Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Horizon(Length: ~1800 words)

Three years later.

The summer evening air was warm and sweet with the scent of blooming jasmine in our Westchester garden.

A long wooden dining table was set up on the patio under twinkling fairy lights, loaded with fresh food, summer berries, and laughter.

Eleanor sat at the head of the table, showing eight-year-old Emma how to weave floral crowns out of clover blossoms.

Sitting near the garden lawn was five-year-old Claire, wearing a yellow summer dress, holding the hand of her new two-year-old baby brother, Leo, as he took his very first unsteady steps across the soft grass.

"Look, Daddy! Look!" Claire cheered, her face glowing with pride as she gently guided little Leo. "Leo is taking his brave steps toward his moon!"

I stood on the patio deck alongside Hannah, holding two glasses of lemonade, watching our children play.

My heart was so full it felt like it would burst from my chest.

The darkness that had once threatened to consume my life was completely gone. Richard Vance was serving out his life sentence in a federal facility, forgotten by the world, while the foundation we built had already helped over ten thousand disabled children walk across the country.

My business empire was thriving, but my true wealth was standing right here in this garden—surrounded by love, laughter, and unbreakable health.

Hannah leaned back against my chest, wrapping her arms around my waist as I rested my chin gently on her shoulder.

"Look at them, Alexander," Hannah whispered softly, watching Claire help little Leo catch a firefly near the bushes. "Look how far we've come."

"We built a home out of hope, my love," I replied, kissing her cheek warmly. "And nothing in this world can ever break it."

The sun dipped below the horizon, leaving a magnificent canopy of bright evening stars twinkling across the night sky.

Claire ran up to the patio steps, holding little Leo’s hand, both of them laughing as they presented us with a small jar of glowing fireflies.

"We caught the stars, Daddy!" Claire cheered happily.

I dropped down onto one knee, pulling Hannah, Claire, Emma, and little Leo into one big, warm, unbreakable family embrace under the twinkling starlight.

I took a deep, full breath of the sweet summer air, looking at the radiant faces of my wife and children.

We were safe. We were whole. And our story had finally found its everlasting, beautiful happy ending.
