Chapter 8 - A New Chapter at Seabriar HallAutumn in the South Carolina Lowcountry was breathtaking. The oppressive summer humidity gave way to crisp, golden mornings and cool, refreshing evenings that made the sprawling grounds of Seabriar Hall feel like a magical sanctuary.

The estate had fully transitioned under Voss Heritage Properties. Without the dead weight of Caleb’s mismanaged corporate debt, our profit margins had soared, and we had successfully booked three of the most prestigious high-society weddings in Charleston for the upcoming season.
More importantly, my daughter Maisie was growing stronger and healthier every single day.
At six weeks old, she had already developed a stubborn, determined personality—refusing to sleep unless her cradle was rocked at a precise rhythm, and staring up at me with large, observant dark eyes that reminded me stubbornly of my own reflection.
One crisp Friday morning, Delaney walked into my office holding a bouquet of fresh white hydrangeas and a golden key on a heavy silver ring.
"What's this?" I asked, looking up from a stack of landscape design blueprints.
"The final inspection report for the east guest cottage," Delaney announced with a bright, triumphant grin. "We’ve completely gutted the interior, replaced the flooring, updated the security protocols, and converted it into our new executive planning studio and bridal holding suite. Not a single trace of Brynna's 'nursery' remains."
I let out a genuine, joyful laugh—the kind I hadn't felt in months. "Thank you, Delaney. That feels like closing a very long, dark chapter."

"It's closed for good," Delaney promised, setting the heavy silver key squarely in the center of my desk. "Seabriar Hall belongs to you, your father, and your daughter now. Nobody else."
I picked up the key, feeling its cool metal weight in my palm, and smiled. The hostile takeover had failed. The betrayal had been purged. And my family's legacy stood stronger than ever.
