Chapter 10 - UnshakableThe heavy glass doors of my private penthouse office closed with a soft, airtight seal, shutting out the roar of the city below.

I walked over to the mahogany executive desk, resting my hand briefly on the cool, polished surface where my family crest was inlaid in brushed platinum.

My life was no longer defined by the men who tried to diminish me, the families who tried to break me, or the expectations of a society that expected women to stand quietly in the background while others took the credit.

I was the author of my own destiny. The architect of my own fortune. The sole sovereign of an empire that spanned continents.

As I looked out through the floor-to-ceiling windows at the glittering constellations of the Miami night sky, I knew one thing with absolute, unshakeable certainty:

No one would ever hand me a rag and tell me to clean up their mess again.

May you like

Because from this day forward, I didn't clean up the world.

I owned it.
