Chapter 10 - The Real Wedding DayThe autumn air over the Castellano estate was crisp, clear, and fragrant with the scent of blooming white roses from the newly completed glass conservatory.

The courtyard was bathed in golden afternoon sunlight. String quartets played a soft, classical melody as fifty close friends, loyal business associates, and family members gathered beneath a grand floral archway.
At the altar stood Raffaele, dressed in a tailored black tuxedo, his heart hammering against his ribs with the exact same nervous, breathless anticipation he had felt five years ago.
Then, the heavy oak doors of the manor opened.
The crowd turned as one.
Walking down the long stone aisle, leaning on the arm of Dr. Sarah Vance, was Evelyn.
She wore a breathtaking, custom-made ivory silk wedding gown that shimmered softly in the sunlight. In her dark hair, fastened securely with silver olive branches, rested the exact same vintage pearl hairpiece that Anna had pulled from the vacuum rollers months ago.
She looked radiant. Every trace of the underground darkness had vanished, replaced by a fierce, triumphant grace.
As she reached the altar, Raffaele stepped forward, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. He gently lifted her veil, taking her hands in his. They were warm, strong, and steady.
“You look breathtaking,” Raffaele whispered, his voice cracking with emotion.
“You waited for me,” Evelyn smiled, her eyes shining with absolute love. “Even when you thought I was gone.”
“Always,” Raffaele answered.
The priest smiled warmly, looking out over the congregation before beginning the ceremony.
Off to the side, sitting in the front row between Anna and Dr. Vance, seven-year-old Leo beamed proudly, holding a small velvet box containing their wedding bands.
The past could not be rewritten. The stolen years could never be replaced, and the scars of the dark would always remain part of their story. But as Raffaele slipped the gold band onto Evelyn’s finger and leaned in to kiss his bride amidst a rapturous chorus of applause and falling rose petals, one truth reigned above all else.
