Chapter 9 - The VerdictThe criminal trial of Julian Vance and Bianca Castellano lasted exactly four days.

With overwhelming forensic evidence, Julian’s detailed architectural blueprints of the subfloor prison, and Bianca’s own tearful, unravelling testimony under cross-examination, the jury deliberated for less than ninety minutes.
The verdict was unanimous.
Julian Vance was found guilty of conspiracy, corporate fraud, kidnapping, and aggravated false imprisonment, sentenced to twenty-five years in federal prison without the possibility of parole.
Bianca Castellano was convicted of accessory to kidnapping, false imprisonment, and extortion. Despite her dramatic appeals for family leniency, the judge condemned the calculated, prolonged cruelty of her actions, sentencing her to fifteen years in a maximum-security correctional facility.
As the gavel came down and the deputies led Bianca away in handcuffs, she caught Raffaele’s eye in the gallery one last time. Her mouth opened in a silent plea for forgiveness, but Raffaele’s face remained an unreadable wall of stone.
