Chapter 2 - The Contractual TrapThe lobby of the Grand Royal Hotel was pure chaos by 3:00 AM. While hotel management tried desperately to quiet the outrage, Ethan, his parents, and Jessica were huddled in a private conference room downstairs, looking like condemned prisoners. My family stood outside the glass walls like sentinels, ensuring no one escaped accountability.

I walked into the room calmly, carrying a slim leather folder under my arm. Ethan looked up, his eyes bloodshot, his hair disheveled.
"Victoria... please," Ethan begged, stepping toward me with his hands out. "I made a terrible mistake. It was the stress, the pressure of the wedding... I swear, I love you. Please, we can delete the streams, issue a statement—"
"Save it, Ethan," I said smoothly, pulling out a chair and sitting down. I opened the folder and slid three crisp white documents across the long mahogany table. "We have business to settle."
Evelyn snapped, slamming her hand on the table. "Business?! You just humiliated my son in front of our entire family and social network, Victoria! You orchestrated this whole trap! You're a monster!"
"Your son cheated on me on our wedding night with my best friend, Evelyn," I replied, my voice chillingly level. "If anyone here is a monster, it’s the man you raised."
Ethan looked down at the papers. "What is this?"
"That is a full, unconditional annulment agreement," I stated, tapping the first page. "Along with a complete forfeiture of any claims to our joint marital assets, including the penthouse downtown and the venture equity in your startup."
Ethan’s face went pale. "What? No! Victoria, I put everything I had into that startup! My investors only backed me because your family's firm guaranteed the seed round!"
"Exactly," I smiled coldly. "And if you check clause four of our prenuptial agreement—the one your mother insisted I sign to 'protect the Vance family name'—you'll find a very strict infidelity clause. Any breach of marital fidelity within the first year results in an immediate transfer of all commercial guarantees back to the aggrieved party. That's me."
Evelyn gasped, grabbing the prenuptial document and reading it feverishly. "No... no, this can't be! You set this up!"
"I didn't force Ethan into Jessica's room," I pointed out, turning my gaze to Jessica, who sat shivering in the corner wrapped in a hotel coat. "And speaking of Jessica... as the Chief Marketing Officer of my beauty brand, your contract includes a mandatory morality clause. By engaging in an affair with the founder's spouse on company-sponsored property, you are terminated effective immediately—for cause. No severance. No references."
Jessica burst into fresh tears. "Victoria, please! I have rent to pay! My career—"
"Your career is over," I interrupted cleanly. "Just like your friendship."
Ethan stared at the signature line on the annulment papers. His hand trembled as he picked up the pen. "If I sign this... will you take down the stream archive?"
"Sign it first," I ordered.
Desperate to save whatever shred of his public dignity remained, Ethan scrawled his name on the line. I immediately snatched the document back, verifying the signature before placing it safely inside my leather folder.
"Thank you, Ethan," I said, rising from my chair. "Now, as for the stream..."
"You're taking it down, right?" Ethan asked, hope flickering in his eyes.

"Why would I?" I smiled, leaning in close so only he could hear. "It’s already gone viral. In fact, it’s trending number one nationwide. Every single one of your angel investors has already seen it."
Before he could scream, I turned on my heel and walked out of the room, leaving the Vance family to drown in the consequences of their own creation.
