Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable HorizonOne year later.

I stood on the private balcony of my penthouse apartment in Brooklyn, looking out at the glittering lights of the Manhattan skyline across the East River.

The air was warm and sweet, filled with the gentle hum of the city at night.

In my hands, I held a copy of the New York Law Journal. On the front page was a full article featuring my brothers and me, titled: THE MORETTI FOUNDATION: HOW A BROOKLYN FAMILY BUILT MANHATTAN'S GREATEST CHARITY EMPIRE.

Behind me, the living room was filled with warm light and soft music.

My five brothers were all there, sitting around the dining table, arguing playfully over a game of cards, their loud, easy laughter filling every corner of the home.

In the nursery down the hall, a soft nightlight glowed—a beautiful, quiet room waiting for the future, built on safety, peace, and absolute love.

I stepped back inside, sliding the glass door shut, cutting off the cool breeze of the city.

I walked over to the table and sat down beside Luca, leaning my shoulder against his as Nico dealt another hand of cards.

Five years ago, I was a woman trapped in a golden cage, hanging from a ceiling beam, believing that I was alone in the dark.

Today, I was free. I was powerful. I was cherished.

Adrian Vale had tried to break me with thirty strikes of a leather belt, believing he could make me small.

He didn't know that every strike had only chipped away the false shell I was hiding under, revealing the unbreakable iron of the woman beneath.

I looked around the table at the five men who would have torn the world apart to keep me safe—my protectors, my champions, my brothers.

I smiled, picked up my cards, and joined the game.

The storm was over. The debt was paid in full. And my life had finally begun.
