Chapter 10 - A House Built on LoveOne year later.

The Callaway estate was no longer the quiet, gloomy stone fortress it had once been. The long marble hallways were filled with the sound of cheerful music, bright morning sunlight, and the soft pitter-patter of little feet.
Out in the sunny garden courtyard, where the brick barbecue pit had long since been removed and replaced by a beautiful, blooming rose garden, four-year-old Lily was running across the lush grass, wearing a pink party dress and giggling happily.
"Catch me, Daddy!" Lily cheered, waving her hands.
Nathaniel Callaway—wearing a simple linen shirt with his sleeves rolled up, looking younger, happier, and healthier than ever—chased after her with a wide, genuine smile, picking her up and swinging her round and round in the air as she squealed with delight.
Grace walked out onto the patio, holding a tray of fresh lemonade. She stood watching them, her heart bursting with love and contentment.
Over the past year, everything had changed. After the night of the exposed party, Vivien Marsh’s family suffered massive public scandal and financial downfall, forcing her to leave the country in disgrace. Meanwhile, Nathaniel had completely restructured his life, stepping back from his eighteen-hour workdays to spend real time at home.
In the quiet months that followed, the unspoken bond between Nathaniel and Grace had blossomed into a deep, beautiful romance. Nathaniel had fallen hopelessly in love with Grace’s strength, her gentle spirit, and her devotion as a mother. And Grace had found in Nathaniel a true partner—a man who protected them, cherished them, and loved Lily as if she were his own flesh and blood.
Six months ago, Nathaniel had formally adopted Lily, legally making her a Callaway. And three months ago, in a quiet, intimate ceremony in the mansion's gardens—surrounded only by true friends and the loyal household staff—Nathaniel and Grace were married.
Nathaniel set Lily down on the grass, where she immediately ran over to Martha to show off a new bubble wand.
Nathaniel walked up the patio steps toward Grace. He wrapped his arms gently around her waist from behind, resting his chin softly on her shoulder.
"What are you thinking about, Mrs. Callaway?" Nathaniel whispered, kissing her cheek gently.
Grace leaned back into his warm, solid chest, looking out over the beautiful garden filled with life, laughter, and sunshine.
"I was just thinking about how far we've come," Grace said softly, turning in his arms to wrap her hands around his neck. "How a broken little drawing of a lion brought us all together."
Nathaniel smiled, pulling a small silver object from his pocket. It was a brand-new, custom-crafted silver music box—identical to the one lost, but engraved with a new inscription: “To our precious Lily, loved forever by Mom and Dad.”
"This house used to be just an empire of stone and spreadsheets," Nathaniel said, looking deeply into Grace’s eyes with absolute devotion. "You and Lily gave it a soul. You gave me a family."

Grace smiled, her eyes glistening with happy tears as she leaned up to kiss her husband.
Outside in the garden, little Lily’s joyful laughter echoed under the warm afternoon sky—a sweet, permanent reminder that cruelty had been conquered, justice had prevailed, and true love had finally found its home.
