Chapter 9 - Justice and New BeginningsThe security guards moved swiftly, grabbing Vivien by both arms and pulling her up from the floor.

"No! Let go of me! Nathaniel! You can't do this to me! My father will ruin you!" Vivien shrieked frantically as she was dragged down the marble aisle, her expensive emerald dress torn, her hair ruined, and tears smearing her makeup into a grotesque mask. The photographers swarmed her, taking dozens of pictures that would dominate the front pages of national newspapers by morning: “Billionaire's Fiancée Exposed: The Cruel Truth Behind Vivien Marsh.”
As the heavy doors slammed shut behind the disgraced heiress, the ballroom remained in stunned silence.
Nathaniel took a deep breath, turning his back on the stage. He walked slowly over to Grace and knelt down on one knee right in front of little Lily.
He looked into the toddler’s big brown eyes. "Lily," Nathaniel said gently, his deep voice softening completely. "I am so, so sorry that someone hurt you in my house. I promise you, no one will ever be mean to you or your mother ever again."
Lily looked at him timidly, then reached out her small hand and touched his shoulder. "Is the bad lady gone?"
"She’s gone forever," Nathaniel promised softly.
Nathaniel stood up and faced Grace. He looked at the bruised handprint on her cheek, his heart aching with a profound sense of remorse. "Grace... I failed to protect you and your daughter under my own roof. I was blind. Can you ever forgive me?"
Grace looked at the powerful billionaire kneeling before her, seeing not the cold CEO, but the kind, lonely man who had treasured her daughter’s silly lion drawing.
"It wasn't your fault, Mr. Callaway," Grace said softly, a small, weary smile appearing on her face. "You didn't know."
Nathaniel turned around to address the entire ballroom of distinguished guests.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Nathaniel said into the microphone, his voice strong and firm. "Tonight's engagement party is canceled. But the celebration is not. Tonight, we celebrate the third birthday of the sweetest girl in this world—Lily Whitfield!"
The crowd broke into spontaneous, thunderous applause. The initial shock turned into overwhelming support for the courageous housekeeper and her daughter.
Nathaniel immediately called his personal chauffeur. "Bring the company truck to the toy district downtown right now. Buy every single elephant toy, every book, and every plush bear you can find. Open the store if you have to. Bring them all here within the hour."
An hour later, the ballroom transformed into a magical paradise for three-year-old Lily. A massive mountain of brand-new, beautiful wrapped presents was piled high in the center of the hall. The top chefs brought out a gigantic, four-tiered strawberry cake adorned with sugar-crafted elephants.

Lily’s eyes shone with pure, unbridled joy as she unwrapped gift after gift, surrounded by the cheering kitchen staff, guests, and Nathaniel himself, who sat right on the floor beside her, helping her open every single box.
Grace sat nearby, watching her daughter laugh freely. For the first time in four long years, the heavy weight in Grace’s chest finally lifted.
