Chapter 6 - Rebirth of an Empire(Length: ~1800 words)

Three months later.

The grand auditorium of the Boston Tech Center was packed with over five hundred investors, journalists, scientists, and industry leaders.

On the massive digital screen behind the main stage, the old logo of Mitchell Medical Technologies faded away, replaced by bold, shimmering silver letters:

VANCE BIOMEDICAL HOLDINGS

The applause was deafening as I walked out onto the stage, wearing an elegant, sleeveless royal-blue gown that proudly displayed the faint silver line of scars along my right shoulder and arm.

I no longer hid them under heavy gray coats. I no longer wore long sleeves to appease a husband who was ashamed of my survival. Those scars were my armor, my history, and my strength.

Standing at the crystal podium, I looked out over the sea of cheering faces.

Sitting in the front row was Marcus Thorne, smiling broadly; Daniel Brooks, holding a glass of champagne; and Aunt Helen, who had traveled from Chicago to witness the historic moment.

"Three months ago," I began, my voice echoing clearly through the auditorium's speaker system, "this company was on the verge of total moral and financial bankruptcy. It was run by men who believed that innovation could be stolen, that people were disposable, and that money could buy silence."

The audience went dead quiet, listening to every word.

"Today," I declared, "Vance Biomedical Holdings officially launches the Aegis-II Artificial Heart Valve—a second-generation medical device designed, tested, and patented entirely by our newly restructured all-female research team."

The room erupted into thunderous applause once more.

"Furthermore," I continued, holding up a sleek digital tablet, "fifty percent of all licensing profits generated by the Aegis-II will be permanently directed toward funding free reconstructive surgeries for burn victims and survivors of domestic trauma across the country."

Marcus Thorne stood up first, giving a resounding standing ovation, followed immediately by the entire five-hundred-person audience.

Reporters rushed to the front of the stage, their cameras flashing rapidly as I stood before them—not as a victim, not as a former trophy wife, but as the pioneer of a multi-billion-dollar medical revolution.

After the launch presentation, I walked into the VIP reception hall, where Daniel handed me a glass of sparkling water.

"Incredible speech, Iris," Daniel said, his eyes filled with immense warmth and admiration. "The stock opened twenty percent higher during your presentation."

"Thank you, Daniel," I smiled, clinking my glass against his. "For everything. You were the only one who believed in me when I walked into your office six months ago with a pile of charred logbooks."

"I didn't just believe in the case, Iris," Daniel said gently, taking a step closer, his tone turning sincere and quiet. "I believed in you. I knew the moment I saw those blueprints that the world was about to meet someone extraordinary."

A soft blush touched my cheeks, but before I could reply, my secretary, Sarah, hurried over holding a black leather folder.

"Mrs. Vance," Sarah said respectfully. "The final court order regarding the liquidation of Jason Mitchell’s personal assets just arrived from Judge Vance’s chambers."

I took the folder and opened it.

The paper confirmed that the forty-acre Mitchell Manor, the fleet of sports cars, the private jet, and all remaining personal items had been officially surrendered to my possession.

"What do you plan to do with the mansion, Iris?" Daniel asked curiously.

I looked out the floor-to-ceiling glass window at the ocean view outside.

"I’m tearing it down," I said calmly. "And building a state-of-the-art research facility in its place."
