Chapter 6 - The UnravelingThe autumn wind blew sharply through the gardens of Victoria’s private estate on the outskirts of the city.

Emily sat on a sunlit veranda, wearing a warm cashmere sweater, sipping herbal tea. Her stomach was visibly rounder now, six months along, her health fully restored under the care of top medical specialists hired by Victoria’s family foundation.
Victoria stepped out onto the veranda, holding two legal documents.
"How are you feeling today?" Victoria asked warmly, sitting down across from her.
"The baby is kicking a lot," Emily smiled softly. Then her expression turned serious. "I saw the news today. Nathaniel's mother was forced off the executive charitable board."
"She lost her voting proxy two days ago," Victoria confirmed, setting the documents on the table. "And Nathaniel is currently living in a rented townhouse downtown while the forensic audit finishes."
Emily looked down at her tea. "I never wanted them to lose everything, Victoria. I just wanted my baby to be safe."
"They didn't lose everything because of you, Emily," Victoria said gently. "They lost everything because they built an empire on arrogance, deceit, and illegal contracts. They thought people beneath their tax bracket were disposable."
Victoria slid the first document across the table.
"This is the formal revocation of the emergency custody petition Nathaniel signed," Victoria explained. "My lawyers had a judge strike it from the record permanently. They can never use it against you again."
Emily touched the paper, tears of relief shining in her eyes. "Thank you... thank you so much."
"And this second document," Victoria continued, sliding a heavy blue folder forward, "is the activation paperwork for the Hayes Family Founding Trust."
Emily frowned, looking confused. "What is that?"
"Your child is the sole legal beneficiary of Nathaniel's father's original founding estate," Victoria revealed. "When your baby is born, you will be named the primary legal guardian of thirty percent of Hayes Global’s voting shares."
Emily gasped, pulling her hand back as if the folder were on fire. "No... no, I can't take that! They'll think I planned this! They'll say I really was a gold-digger!"
"Who cares what Eleanor Hayes thinks?" Victoria asked, her eyes fierce and steady. "This isn't about revenge, Emily. It's about justice. That money was stolen from your child before they were even born. You are going to take those shares, and you are going to use them to ensure no family ever gets treated the way you were treated again."
Before Emily could answer, the security chime at the front gate echoed across the veranda.

Victoria picked up her tablet, checking the security feed.
Standing outside the iron gates in the rain, holding a bunch of wilted white roses, was Nathaniel.
